An urban legend is a popular story alleged to be true which often spread from person to person.
Urban legends became popular by jokes that seemed to be true but are a lie to the society. They get people worried, mad, or possibly even sad.
There are many different urban legends that get spread. For example; a family member might send you an email, fax, or they may tell you via oral, or communication.
There are many different urban legends; stories about Styrofoam from noodle cups having deadly wax around the rim, it is said to have killed a boy that sipped from the cup, and got clogged in his intestines. Many people believe this to be true, But There would be no use to use wax on these containers; any use it could possibly serve is already well handled by the Styrofoam. This is false according to http://www.snopes.com/
Another urban legend I came across was about harmful carrying bacteria.
Did you know, your purse may be bringing harmful bacteria, and disease viruses into your home?
50 woman’s purses were swabbed, 15 out of those 50 women had the bacteria of hepatitis, and e-coli carried into there homes due to setting there purses on public restroom floors, the going home and setting there purses on the kitchen table, counters, or even furniture. This is a true fact, according to the scientists of Louisiana. They give the advice for woman to keep there bags and purses off floors, and off your home furnishings,
The third urban legend I researched was that .According to snopes.com red bull energy drink does not contain a banned government manufactured stimulant linked to the formation to brain tumors.
Red bull contains 600 mg of the substance per can; it is legal and was developed in the early 60’s by the government. There is a normal daily intake of caffeine in the drink. The stimulant is banned in many federal countries, due to the rumor that is very bad for your health.
the federal gov made this as a legal substance.
All in all; if people receive messages about the following we need to remind them that it may in fact be true, or false, according to http://www.snopes.com/.

violence in the media.
Violence in the media today has alot of detailed violence. i beleive the media today has gotten a little out of hand. For example; the violence shown in videogames, and movies are being shown to young children, and adults. I think it is very wrong for the media to be showing this. The types of things it is showing is the follwing, how to kill, the meaning of violence in a very discripted matter, and the types of weapons that could be used to hurts somebody. The second example is sexua lcontent. You see in video games the woman in them, and how they're bodys are shaped, and the clothing they have on. I beleive this shows children its ok to dress like this, and do the actions these characters are performing. Third example is. You see on the tv the news. There is murders, shooting, etc. Alot of of children see these types of things everyday, and some might think its normal life, and these types of things might not phase them what so ever, I think the media has a very large amount of violence, and innapropriate images being shown to young viewers. And the violence these children see will most likely be repeated by them.

Hip hop
* Rap lyrics contain too many references to violence and gunplay.
I strongly agree on the statement. When you listen to the lyrics of almost all rap songs, the name or song always says or has something to do with violence, killing people, gangs, mafias, and so on.
I also beleive it unifys people across linguisticly, racial and geographic lines. Rap music is a bad influence towards little kids. Children may not be as wise as adults, But they learn and catch on from others. And that is what they do when they listen to this violent rap music.
"i jokingly say im in a recovery form hip hop. It's like being in a domestic violence sistuation. Your home is hip hop and your man beats you."
-Toni Blackman, rapper, Poet, Actress.
This quote supports my opinion. I think this way because thats what "rappers" want you to think. And thats what rap music talks about. Beating woman, disrespecting woman, and down grading woman by showeing them dancing how they do and showing they're bodys the way they do. It makes woman look really bad.

Videos.
The past videos i have watched have been very interesting to me. I have learned a lot about the technology, and all the work they do on the "models" in media. And behavior people perform. My favorite video of all the video's is where they showed the before and after photos of the people used to model. It shows just how fake people in the media are. My opinion on media today is that it’s very inappropriate, and violent. This is very offensive to adults I would imagine. Because for their children or grandchildren this is a bad influence for them, and not good for them to learn or watch. When I compare the two videos I come to know that woman in the media are kind of "disrespected" and made to look like they're not supposed to be heard, or speak. And men are made to look "tough" and in control. I have never noticed these types of things in the media until our media analysis class studied it. And now that it’s pointed out I think there needs to be change in the media today. There is probably more children watching and looking at all of these inappropriate advertisements. Such as; sex ads, and drug ads. And it makes kids want to do those types of things. Such as when a heavier young girl see's a skinny tall model, they think that’s how everyone is supposed to look. And that might lead to a lot of health problems for young girls, such as anorexia, and bulimia. To try to make there bodies look that good. But what they don’t know is they try to make media seem so perfect, and flawless, so they can get more money on an item, or a company. I believe they should to a major change in media for the better. It would help prevent a lot of the things going on in today’s society. To close I am done stating my opinion on media in today’s world.

Superbowl
What I have learned about the super bowl commercials are, that all of the commercials on the super bowl channel are advertisements, and company’s/brands that want you to recognize them. For they can make money by you're purchases. I have also learned that the commercial prices are very expensive. The types of commercials that were very popular this year were the following. Beer advertisements, Doritos, athletics gear, and Pepsi. The one I’ve seen the most out of all of the following would have to be beer commercials. I think there are so many of these advertisements on TV because the way they make the beer sound. Cold refreshing, and non filling, unlike any other beer. People would buy the product. And the company would be the one to make the money.
Concepts
Out of the five key concepts the one I understand the most would have to be key concept number 5. They put out advertisements for you to buy there product. And so they can make money. Most media messages are organized to gain profit and/or power. For example: AT&T phone company sets an advertisement out on a commercial. With a catchy verse, or images that will catch your eye. And want you to buy, or use the company. They're doing this not for your benefits, but they're doing it for they can make money off the product you buy, and the products you use in your home. Or anywhere. The just want you to know them and recognize there advertisements and good things about them.
